One of the biggest franchises of the 1990s was Home Alone. BUT -- where are all the toys?! Despite appealing to so many children growing up in the 90’s, the Home Alone merchandise department was not working very hard.
Seriously...we got a full line of Coneheads action figures, but barely anything for Home Alone? Anyway -- if you want to expand your Home Alone toy collection, there is still a nice mix of original releases from the 90s and newer toys created to honor the legacy of the film.
So dodge those paint buckets and come on a journey to discover the 10 Must-Own Home Alone Toys.
10. The Talkboy Collection

It’s the ultimate debate: was Home Alone 2: Lost in New York simply made for Tiger Electronics to shill their new Talkboy or was the sequel a fun adventure which upped the ante from the first movie? Well, it didn’t matter when we were kids because many of us just HAD to have the Talkboy. Besides Kevin’s cool deep voice use in the movie, many of us were hooked on the commercials of the younger brother secretly recording his sister. Good times.
Tiger Electronics botched the first Talkboy release during the 1992 holiday season when they released the Talkboy without the voice changing feature. One year later, Home Alone 2 was released on home video and Tiger released the Deluxe Talkboy with voice-changing features. The upgrade made all the difference as the toy instantly sold out across the country.

Tiger Electronics |
The Deluxe Talkboy came with a branded cassette tape and the extended microphone ideal for recording all kinds of audio action. And in case the name Talkboy was too gender-centric, Tiger Electronics had you covered with the pink-themed Talkgirl! But that wasn’t all.
The Talkboy lived well beyond the success of Home Alone 2. For years following the movie, we saw spin-offs and new takes on the device.
|
Tiger Electronics |
The cassette tape became a thing of the past with the Talkboy Jr., a handheld version of the device that relied on digital recordings instead of the tape. The Talkboy brand extended to the Talkboy Shock Rocker, the Talkboy F/X+ Phone, the F/X+ Pen, and even
the Talkboy Tic Talker, a digital watch with recording technology. It's a little surprising Home Alone 3 didn’t just implement all these features.
9. NECA Home Alone Collection
If you want the ultimate collection of Home Alone action figures, then you just have to turn to the toy company NECA -- who produced the most detailed and well thought out Home Alone toys ever made. Released in 2015 to celebrate the film’s 25th anniversary, this is literally everything you could ask for in a Home Alone action figure set.
|
NECA Kevin McCallister Figure |
The details and actor likeness is captured perfectly and each figure comes with an interchangeable head. You have the confident trap-setting Kevin and the insecure screaming Kevin. The accessories add even more to the collection, including a Little Nero’s pizza box, Kevin’s iconic BB gun, and the zipline handlebars. The cloth clothing makes the toys more realistic and adds so many layers to each figure.
|
NECA Marv Action Figure |
The details and packaging make this a great collectible to keep minty fresh in the box, but if you get all three, you cannot help but display them together in one of the many movie scenarios. Unfortunately, if you didn’t pick up these bad boys back in 2015, you’re gonna be emptying out a good chunk of your wallet for these. Or you could be like Kevin -- and just steal some cash from Buzz.
8. The Original Kevin Figure
If you’re looking for vintage Home Alone options, then there’s one toy you should get your hands on. The first official Kevin McCallister action figure. The articulation is basic with arm movements in the shoulder, and leg movements at the thigh, but the character design and talking features really make the figure pop and stand out.
|
Home Alone Screaming Kevin Figure |
Oddly, this was the ONLY action figure released for the movie. No Harry. No Marv. No Old Man. Kevin was truly "alone" on the toy aisles, but he would have worked great with a Ninja Turtles set, the Batman Wayne Manor, or to use with a wrestling ring in an effort to reprise Macaulay Culkin’s guest appearance role at WrestleMania 7.
Because Kevin was the only figure released, this makes him even more of a prized possession. The figure was a little harder to come by back in the day and is even harder to find in mint condition today. And if you do find him, he’ll likely need a battery replacement to get the sound working properly.

7. Home Alone Funko Pop!
You knew that once Funko started diving into the Christmas collection for their Pops, Home Alone would be high up on the list -- and boy did they deliver. The Home Alone Funko Pop collection may be small, but it’s worth collecting. Unlike other series, the available figures are short on variants, but present the classic film in all the right ways. We have the signature Kevin McCallister, holding his trusty BB gun and iron. Marv features an iron burn mark on his forehead, and good ol’ Harry after he suffered burns from the flame torch. The set is pretty much the NECA action figures transformed into Funko form.
|
Home Alone Funko Pop! Kevin |
If you’re looking for some alternative versions, consider the Target-exclusive Home Alone Funko Pop! set. The set includes Kevin dressed in his outdoor winter gear and includes an adult-sized beanie which matches the same reindeer pattern as the Funko figure.
For a bigger display, check out the diorama set that features the classic paint bucket scene.
Best Buy also sold the Harry and Marv as an exclusive two-pack, but the figures are exactly the same as the individual one, so the two-pack is only worth purchasing if you display your Pops mint in box.
6. The Unofficial Fuller Figure
All of the merch already touched on is of the official variety, but there is one bootleg Home Alone toy you cannot pass up. Released by the custom toymakers known as the Super Secret Fun Club, the company was responsible for gifting us with a Fuller action figure. The tiny figure captures the essence of one of the best scene-stealing characters in both Home Alone and Home Alone 2.
Designed with his round glasses and trademark suspenders, the toy is a must-have for any Home Alone collection. Even better are the accessories. Fuller comes with a tiny can of Pepsi and those bed sheets he’s known for wetting year after year.
|
South Bend Shovel Slayer |
While this is the one Super Secret Fun Club figure highlighted here, there are several other Home Alone-themed merch from the company. Even more detailed is the Old Man Marley figure with his patented shovel. Of course, they refer to him as the South Bend Shovel Slayer. They also released a Home Alone fun pack with stickers, buttons, and a replica pic of Buzz’s girlfriend...woof!
And finally, there's a replica of the brick. You know the one that SMASHED into Marv’s skull -- but caused minimal bleeding or brain injuries. Now you can own the replica, maybe recreate the scene with your Marv Funko Pop!

5. The Home Alone LEGO Set
LEGO has spoiled millennials in recent years with some of their greatest sets. Along with sets straight from shows like Friends and Seinfeld, the bricks company went all-out to produce the Home Alone house.
|
Recreate your favorite scenes in LEGO form |
The set includes over 3,000 pieces. Along with the McCallister's massive home, you can build Kevin's treehouse along with the plumbing van Marv and Harry travel around in.
4. Home Alone Bobbleheads
If you were looking for official toys besides Kevin, Marv, and Harry -- then your one chance is a bobblehead. It’s not the Mom. Not Mr. Macallister. Or even Uncle Frank. NECA released a limited edition bobblehead of Gus Polinski, the Polka King. The selection is odd, but welcome as there were only 1,000 of these bobbleheads produced.
|
The Polka King Bobblehead |
The body may be a little slimmed down compared to John Candy in real life, but the face likeness is definitely there. NECA also produced bobbleheads of the core three, giving you a lot more to collect in the series.
|
NECA Home Alone Bobbleheads |
Who knows if the success of the Gus bobblehead will lead to more sales down the line, but maybe NECA will give Pigeon Lady some love if they ever decide to dive deep into Home Alone 2.
3. Home Alone 2: Action Contraption Board Game
The natural survival techniques of a boy taking on two criminals helped the Home Alone franchise dive deep into the world of board games and video games. Despite a great basic concept, many of the games missed the mark and didn’t live up to the movie’s reputation. If there’s one game you HAVE to own, it’s the Home Alone 2 Action Contraption game. Forget the complicated rules and just have fun setting up this “Mouse Trap” style game to use with your figures.
|
Home Alone 2: The Board Game |
The whole set-up is essentially one big trap, reminiscent of the classic toolbox falling down the stairs scene from the sequel movie. Stairs, chutes, and fun little characters give you a lot to do with the game, but you’re not just limited to those options. The whole set-up works well with smaller-styled figures like GI Joes and
could be used as a full-fledged playset.
If you decide to purchase the game -- be weary of the parts available. If you find a set with missing parts, then you could have trouble putting the whole thing together.
2. Home Alone Diecast Car
Micro machines played a crucial role in the first Home Alone as the little cars created a tough obstacle for Marv and Harry to get by. You would think that toy companies would take advantage of this and release a whole series of vehicles based off the film -- but this was not the case. For years, the only official Home Alone car made available was the diecast 1986 Chevrolet Caprice "Wilmette Illinois Police" vehicle. You know, the cop car for the people who tried to do a welfare check and claimed Kevin wasn’t even home. Yikes.
Greenlight Collectibles put a lot of detail into the car and the packaging alone with the simplified art is worth purchasing the toy car. The car is on scale with a traditional Hot Wheels model, but a bigger version is also available.
|
Home Alone Diecast Cars |
You could hold out for their second car in the series, the larger-scale 1986 Dodge Ram Van "Oh-Kay Plumbing & Heating". That’s right! You can Harry and Marv’s shady van who often patrolled neighborhoods. Pretty funny that the Wet Bandits traveled around in a plumbing van. The details and added dirt mark on the van really help the design stand out. Now we just need a New York taxi toy with the creepy driver from Home Alone 2 sitting in the front seat.
1. 25th Movie Anniversary Set
To help celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Home Alone, 20th Century Fox went all out. One of the best merchandise releases was the Paint Can movie set. Sure, you could just use the later Home Alone sequel discs as drink coasters, but the rest of the set is worth collecting. Not only do you get a replica map of Kevin’s battle plan, but the set comes with a toy spider. Who knew that one day collectors would have the chance to own a replica of Buzz’s pet tarantula?!
|
20th Century Fox |
The set also comes with a Home Alone ornament and a Wet Bandits Wanted poster. The paint can alone is enough to create your own mischief and the whole thing is a must-own for any Home Alone fan as it includes digital copies of all five movies as well.
The toys may not be much, but they cover a wide range of collectibles and could become an annual decoration for any Home Alone lover in your life.
